About the Presenters
Valerie Craig-Ndiaye, M.Ed.
Health and PE Supervisor, Jersey City Public Schools (NJ)
Valerie Craig-Ndiaye is an experienced Health and Physical Education leader with more than 27 years in the field, including 21 years as a Physical Education teacher and six years as a K–12 Health and Physical Education Supervisor. She actively advances quality Health and Physical Education through professional leadership, curriculum development, and advocacy. In 2024, Valerie received the NJAHPERD Distinguished Leadership Award.
Valerie serves in leadership roles with NJAHPERD and the National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy (NAHPL) and contributes nationally as a member of SHAPE America's Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) Standards Revision Committee. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Hudson County Professional Learning Community (PLC) for Health and Physical Education.
Jeff Koviack
PE Teacher, Marion County Public Schools (FL)
Jeff Koviack is an elementary physical education coach at Belleview-Santos Elementary, a Title I school in Marion County, Florida. He is passionate about creating innovative, equitable, and engaging physical education experiences that provide every student with opportunities to move, learn, and succeed.
Jeff has secured significant funding at local, national, and international levels, including a SPARK Equity Organization Award and recognition from the Delta Kappa Gamma International Educators Foundation. Belleview-Santos has earned recognition as a FANS Powerhouse PE Program and received a Physical Education Innovator Award. Jeff is currently a SHAPE Florida Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year finalist.
